Olympic Track and Field: Fastest in the World up For Grabs

The Olympics are underway and by now many viewers are encompassed with the fastest man in the water, Michael Phelps, and his journey for eight gold medals and potentially having eight new world records as well.  While the swimming is bringing great levels of excitement to fans the event that many people enjoy to watch the most in the games is by far the shortest event, the 100 meter dash.  This race includes the fastest men in the world and will probably be a race between a pair of Americans and Jamaicans in Usain Bolt and Asafa Powell along with Tyson Gay and Walter Dix.

The best thing about the hundred meter race is that viewers do not have time to worry about the runners when they start, because in less than ten seconds they are finished.  In other longer races the viewer will become nervous because strategy is taking place in the race with positioning and having to figure out when they will make a move on the rest of the field.  A hundred meter dash is really an all out sprint filled with adrenaline that is an incredible spectacle.  With the runners breaking world records left and right, there is a very good chance that the a new fastest man in recorded history will walk out of Beijing with a gold medal.
